Kipling Jungle Books Color Illustrations First Eds. + Dust Jackets Two Volumes

Description: Three images of this 76-year-old, two-volume set are shown below. This item is: The Jungle Books, by Rudyard Kipling, Published by Doubleday & Company, 1948, first edition thus. These stories were first-published in 1895; the books offered here are the first editions with these illustrations. Each measures 8 3/4" x 5 1/4". Volume I is 250 pages; Volume II is 201 pages. The books are in Very Good-Near Fine condition with some very gentle wear. Each has color illustrations by Aldren Watson; they are in Fine condition and blank on the reverse (e.g., please see image #1 below). The dust jackets are in overall Good-Very Good condition; they are not price-clipped and in protective mylar. Image #2 below is the front panel of Volume I; this jacket is in Good condition only with the bottom 2" of the front panel and spine lacking. The Volume II jacket is in significantly better condition without the large area of loss shown in Volume I. Image #3 is the front board of Volume I; Volume II has the same binding. For each book, there is no former-owner's bookplate inside, no writing inside, no foxing, and there are no loose pages.
