Description: Kenwood R-1000 Short Wave Radio Receiver ~ Offered here is my fathers Kenwood R-1000 Shortwave receiver with its power cord. Could not find the user manual but it is available for free download on the Internet. I know very little about shortwave listening.. my dad used to spend hours tuning and listening to broadcasts from around the world. He had it attached to a long wire antenna that he looped around our backyard. I think the radio is in very good condition but it does have a few scratches and dings.. please take a look at the pictures.. I just tried the radio out and was able to listen to many stations on different bands. Some were in English and many in foreign languages. Noticed the light for the signal indicator meter is not working but the meter still works with out the light. As I mentioned my knowledge about shortwave listening is very limited. Most of the dials and adjustments on the radio I know nothing about so I do not know how to test them.. so the radio is being sold as is.
