Description: A letter dated April 1, 1950 to Ellen Custis Lewis, Washington, D.C., and comes with the original envelope dated April 4, 1950. Letter is from The Kenmore Association, Fredericksburg, Virginia inviting Miss Lewis & her family to attend the 200th wedding anniversary of Colonel Felding and Betty Washington Lewis on April 28, 1950 at Kenmore. She will be shown the house and grounds and a dramatic episodes, "The Kemore Heritage", will be reenacted in her honor. Note: I believe Ellen Custis Lewis was related to Colonel Felding & Betty Washington Lewis, but need further investigation to confirm. The letter is very fine condition, folded in half and then folded over twice to fit the envelope. The envelope was rough opened resulting in a tear. The envelope on the back side is imprinted with The Kenmore Association, Inc., Fredericksburg, Virginia, some stray writing on back of cover. A historical item for the specialist collector.
