Description: A vintage right-hand thrower first base mitt made by Ken-Wel, a Hank Biasatti autograph model. Hank Biasatti played major league baseball for just one season, 1949, for the Philadelphia Athletics. He hit .083 with an OBP of .312 in limited action. He is a trivia item as the only Canadian to play both baseball and basketball at a top league level( he was born in Italy but raised in Canada). He is also recorded by the NBA as the first international NBA player, having played for the 1946 Toronto Huskies of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), a league which evolved into the NBA when it merged with the National Basketball League in 1949. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics of the BAA in 1947, 13th pick overall, but never played for them. The Ken-Well logo and model number, 617, are faintly visible, as is the Hank Biasatti signature. This glove is very rare.
