Exhaust is easy to install and does not throw a check engine light. The XB is not excessively loud like other short after market pipes when using the sound arrester. The XB can be purchased with a sound arrester (not included in the base price above-see below) as shown in the photo to reduce decibels about 10-15db and clean the tone with minimal distortion. The sound arrester helps to prevent lean out conditions at high rpm (snap, crackle, pop) by providing some back pressure. Pipe is ready to bolt on to stock header (no cannister). It has superior heat and corrosion resistance and has been tested to automotive specifications and meets or exceeds standards of performance for exhaust and muffler coatings. Heat resistance in excess of 1100 degrees and continuous testing for 48 hours at 800 degrees show this coating to hold its color, gloss and physical integrity at this service temperature. It should be noted this motorcycle exhaust should not exceed 500 degrees.This coating exceeds specifications for salt spray resistance testing.
