Description: Vibrant serigraph print by Dutch avant garde modernist painter, sculptor and poet, Karel Appel. Unnumbered limited edition print, signed in plate. The colors are very bright with no fading (the black signature appears faded in the first photo however that is just a glare). Image size is 19”X 26”. Including foam board it is 21”x29” This print is rare and quite stunning. It has suffered a few unfortunate indignities; the most egregious being having been glued to a piece of foam core (please view photos carefully). The glue may just be what has saved this piece from the fate of others like it… the landfill. It will however need a competent framer and possibly some restoration depending on how you feel about its age related scars. There are some creases in the paper due to its having been glued and there are a couple of light spots however the ink is still in fantastic condition with no fading (one picture has a glare but this is not fading). I believe once this piece is framed, the imperfections will be minimized and it will be absolutely fantastic. This is your chance to get this rare print at a bargain price.
