Description: Description Karel Ančerl Edition Complete Recordings on Philips and DG 9 CD Box Set Product introduction 50th anniversary of his death. A 9-CD box set of Phillips and DG albums recorded by famous Czech conductors for the first time. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous post-war Czech conductor Karel Ánçel (1908-1973), all albums recorded by Philips and Deutsche Grammophon will be released together for the first time. 9 CD box set. During the Cold War, Ánçel was chief conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra between 1950 and 1968, making most of his recordings for the Czech Supraphon label. However, as the Czech Philharmonic began touring abroad, Ánçel's own reputation grew with them, and he began receiving invitations from major orchestras in Europe and America. Deutsche Grammophon made a recording with them in 1955 while they were touring in Germany, and listeners around the world heard the taut, clear-cut sound heard in Shostakovich's Tenth Symphony. , I came to know ``Angel's style'' where he always sings expressively to the melody. All Phillips recordings were made with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and include music by Dvořák and Tchaikovsky. Dvořák's ``Slavonic Dances'' is coupled with Brahms' ``Hungarian Dances'' conducted by Tibor Paul, as well as the original, and this is the first official CD release.
