Description: This hand-crafted brooch was designed by Jorgen Jensen, son of the illustrious Danish silversmith Georg Jensen. Jorgen Jensen)) (1895 - 1966). Jorgen studied silversmithing at the Munich Germany School of Arts and Crafts, as well as the Georg Jensen silversmithy, and worked for Georg Jensen from 1917 until 1923, and again from 1932 through 1966 after leaving his own design studio. His work has been featured at numerous exhibits. The medium for much of his work was pewter as well as sterling silver. Brooch has had the pin reattached, not by me, bought that way at an estate sale. Great Bonus to have the ring as well. Brooch measures 2" and ring top 1".The brooch is round with a shaped modernistic starburst/sand dollar pattern, and is in fine vintage condition, dating from the 1950's or 1960's. It is hallmarked as Danish, designed by Jorgen Jensen, pewter, and design number 57. A pretty period piece to add to your collection. Ring is adjustable and matches the brooch.
