Description: This is a rare May 19th, 1947 program (playbill) from the one-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the WILLIAM CONGREVE comedy "LOVE FOR LOVE" at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. (The play premiered on April 30th, 1695 at the Lincoln's Inn Fields Theatre in London. This revival originated at London's Phoenix Theatre, opened April 8th, 1943 and ran for 471 performances before crossing the Atlantic. The Broadway revival would open May 26th, 1947 at New York's Royale Theatre and close July 5th, 1947 after 48 performances.) .....
