The stones have been set into place with a clear resin. The thin brass disc that has a printed image of Jesus crown of thorns is very smooth and soothing to hold in your hands as you pray. You can feel all the little stone fragments through the resin. This will come placed into the gold foil gift box shown in the photos. The entire medallion measures 3" long. I am so excited to be able offer this precious keepsake that contains a fragment of marble stone that was recovered and gathered during the restoration of the Tomb of Jesus within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. She was invited to the excavation site by a friend of hers who is a Biblical archeologist. I have taken these stones she provided me (I posted a photo of the ones I purchased from her) and I break them up into smaller sizes for the creation of my reliquary keepsakes that I design.
