In fine condition. Jerry Uelsmann has been a major creative force in fine art photography for nearly four decades. Inspired by such budding Pop art icons as Robert Rauschenberg and Joseph Cornell, Uelsmann began experimenting with a variety of darkroom techniques that gave vent to his creative urges. He developed techniques for combining multiple images into often stunning works of surrealist art. By 1965, Uelsmann had gained a reputation as the leading figure in the new field of Pop-art photography. He is the master innovator of the multiple image. Uelsmann does not use any digital processes. He creates each print in the darkroom using three to eight enlargers. His mystical and enigmatic images abound with mystery and symbolism. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1967 and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1972. Uelsmann's photographs are collected extensively by museums. His photographs are in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Chicago Art Institute, the Samuel P.
