If interested here's a little history lesson!A Little History: Jerry Miller began his career in shoe fashions in the late 1940's when he worked for Mademoiselle Shoe Co. In the Early 1950s he married Parsons- trained Margaret Clark and they set up their own company, the Margaret Clark Design Studio. In 1954, the two founded their own wholesaling shoe company, Shoe Biz, selling Clark's design under the label "Margaret Jerrold." Other brand names included Pancaldi, Edouard Jerrold and Shoe Strings. Margaret Jerrold shoes were known for their high style and fine workmanship. Her highly detailed designs appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, Vogue & Cosmopolitan in the 1960s and 1970s.Later Cultural Relevance: The 2000 film Almost Famous catapulted the shoes designer (specifically their embroidered lace up 1960s go-go boots) back into the mainstream when the main character Penny Lane wore a pair of white Jerry Edouard boots throughout the film. Many copycats have been created as a result but none can come close to comparing to the original. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a pair of his boots as part of the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection.T H A N K Y O U for your interest!
