Description: JENSEN P15N VINTAGE 15 INCH SPEAKERS,ALNICO,FULLRANGE,FOR GUITAR AUDIO TUBE AMP,QUAD SET The P15N is a very light cone, wide range speaker, with fast dynamic bass and midbsss, with a high frequency response out to 5Khz, with high efficiency to work great with tube amplifiers. The high efficiency, speed, dynamics, and beautiful tones are achieved with very low mass of the cone, surround, spider, and voice coil. In addition, a nice size alnico magnet is used to drive the light mass, to achieve a good high frequency response, speed, and dynamics. This is because the speaker is not made for very high power handling, but enough power handling to output high energy with the high efficiency design. The smooth cone (original version) is the best for clear midrange. The later design of the early 60's, was changed to ribbed cones, which increased the bass output efficiency a little, but blurred (muffled) the midrange tones. Higher power speakers have more weight of the whole moving structure, which decreases efficiency, speed, dynamics, tone, sound quality, detail, and upper frequency response. These are very suitable for use for home audio on single ended tube amplifiers, and tube guitar amplifiers. Two of these in parallel in a 16 cubic foot vented enclosure sounds four times louder, with even more speed and dynamics. And four in a 32 cubic foot vented enclosure is an insane sound level and sound pressure that will scare you! The P15N can work great in sealed, vented, and bass/midbass horn type cabinets. For good low end frequency response to 40Hz, a 10 cubic ft vented enclosure works very well. These speakers are very dynamic, and blend together very well with horn midrange, for a simple 2 way home audio speaker system on single ended tube amplifiers. The cones are perfect. The back side is very nice, no corrosion on paint. The quad set was removed from a working organ tone cabinets 30 years ago, and stored in boxes with a big collection of these P15N's. Very hard to find P15N's in this nice condition nowadays, or find any at all. There were two same cabinets used on a Hammond C3 organ in a church. Each pair were both used in parallel, in the same cabinet, and both cabinets were played at the same, from the same model organ amplifier. So I would say, these are a perfect quad set of speakers. All four speakers have been sound tested, and sounding nice and clean. The cones are very clean, and in perfect condition. The orangey look on the cones is from incident lighting. The cones are all normal black color. I have been selling on eBay since 1999, so I know how to pack them, and packed for safe shipping. I normally ship with FedEx ground.
