Many of the ingredients once used in vintage formulations have been changed and the balance is often changed as well, significantly altering their fragrance, silage and longevity as well as how fragrances evolve over the hours of wear. Leading perfume companies and some of the great masters of perfume spent years perfecting blends for rich, full bodied and extraordinaire perfumes and colognes. Given the restrictions on costs and ingredients, it seems to me that in most cases the original fragrances lose their original beauty and certainly the fragrances that we remember from vintage releases of these fragrances. Finding these vintage jewels is not easy and Thank Goodness for my move from Hawaii to California and all my busy scheduling because as a result I have kept my stock of vintage perfumes and colognes. Please check what you buy with awareness. Many are out there to sell you something that isn't what they claim. I am uniquely odd, and actually care about who I sell to. I want the people who really miss the true fragrance (original) formulations of the 80's and 90's to get what they desire. And those who don't know it, but want to experience the true scent as the Perfumer intended it to be. Vintage Jardins de Bagatelle is one to appreciate.
