Description: JANET & JOHN COMPLETE 7 CD BOX SET READ BY TERRY WOGAN The original Janet and John books, written by Rona Munro, helped parents of the 1950s and 1960s to teach their children to read. The innocent stories, about the adventures of a brother and sister, were bestsellers, but they eventually fell out of fashion. In the 1990s they became the basis for a series of parodies on Terry Wogan's radio show that seemed to test the limits of taste and decency. In them, the subjects were an adult Janet and John. Written by a listener using the pseudonym Mick Sturbs, they purported to be about newsreader John Marsh - who sat in on the readings - and his wife Janet. Terry Wogan was a leading media personality in Britain and Ireland from the late 1960s and was often referred to as a "national treasure". In addition to his weekday radio show, he was known for his work on television, including the BBC1 chat show Wogan, presenting Children in Need, the game show Blankety Blank and Come Dancing. He was the BBC's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest from 1971 to 2008 and its host in 1998. From 2010 to 2015 he presented Weekend Wogan, a 2 hour Sunday morning show on Radio 2. 1) STORIES OF THE MARSH FAMILY 2) RELOADED (2 CD's) 3) CLINGING TO THE WRECKAGE4) SAILING CLOSE TO THE WIND5) THE FINAL COUNTDOWN6) BONUS DISC 7) AN AUDIENCE WITH
