Description: This auction is for Jackie Robinson Tribute night folder from Saturday, July 12, 1997. During 1997, there was various tributes around major league stadiums honoring the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in 1947. The Pirates night came up at Three Rivers Stadium on July 12. In addition to the pre game on field ceremonies, these folders were issued. They are 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". The folder opens up and has a bio, Jackie's lifetime stats, and a little area where a replica/rerint 1948 Leaf rookie card was placed. The card can be placed in the little slot or taken out. On the back of the folder is a time line of Jackie's career highlights. While history was being celebrated, history was about to be made. After the ceremony, the Pirates took on the Astros and Francisco Cordova and Ricardo Rincon teamed up to throw the first combined extra inning no hitter in the history of Major League Baseball before a sold out crowd. Pirate Mark Smith ended the game with a walk off blast in the bottom of the 10th. The folder has the date of the no hitter on front, July 12, 1997. It was the last no hitter at Three Rivers Stadium before the stadium was torn down. The folder is in excellent shape as is the card which I also took out and scanned separately so you could see the front and back of the card clearly. I have a few available. Thank you for looking!
