Description: JABO "Tribute Last Dance" Ballet ShooterWET MINTRun Date: 12/16/08 This particular Last Dance run had 140,000 marbles in the run with such excellent results that some 20+ families were individually named for their beauty, coloring and goldstone sparkle. Just a few of the names of the families in this run are as follows: Colonel (extremely rare), Irish Lilt, Hardcore, Dolly, Electric Slide, Lone Wolf, Bull, Blue Tango, Waltz, Twist, samba, Hip Hop, Line Dance, Charleston, Pony, Calypso, Rhumba, Cotton Eyed Joe, Fox Trot, Boney Moroney, Watusi, Stroll, Shimmey, Mexi Hat Dance, Ballet, Flamenco, Whip, Jitterbug, Two Step,...etc, etc....the list goes on and on. I have just a few of these Last Dance marbles and I am finding these hard to part with. This Ballet JABO marble from the Tribute to Last Dance run has a beautiful tan base glass with multiple ribbons of mahogany oxblood and green aventurine. This Ballet run was named by Edna Eaton. The outstanding mahogany oxblood swirls on this marble yields attention to the sparkling green aventurine material that gives the right amount of pop and sizzle to this little collectable gem. This rare Ballet marble will add nicely to anyone trying to gather a eclectic group of JABO historical marbles. Collect all the Last Dance families if you dare to try. :-) These Tribute to Last Dance marbles have the ultimate of surface quality, thus the "Wet Mint" rating. Not one single hit, mark, dimple or imperfection at all...just amazing! The JABO troop on this run really knew what they were doing! This marble was made on the 3/4" marble machine and it measures a huge 0.764" in diameter with a pair of electronic calipers. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. Most DSLR cameras have a powerful built in flash and my Canon Rebel is no exception. Note, here is a posting from 2008 that gives more history and meaning to this run called "Last Dance":The activities of the US Army Special Forces are shrouded in mystery and darkness. Most of their stories never come to light. It is fitting that the Tributes Last Dance marbles are shrouded in darkness. Unlike Special Forces, their beauty can be revealed with light. Shine your light on the marbles to reveal their story and remember the former and present men who serve in Special Ops of all branches of our military forces. Our Tributes were the last experimental run of 2008. Families and friends of Special Forces members know the meaning of "Last Dance". DAVE McCULLOUGH WAS THE VICE PRESIDENT OF JABO, INC., AND WAS THE COLOR ARTIST FOR MOST OF THE JABO CLASSICS AND THE JABO SPECIAL RUN MARBLES.
