Description: This card came about as a result of the great card shortage in the summer of 1994, when Carta Mundi was unable to keep up with the rapidly growing demand for Revised and the first venture with another printer ended with the recall of Summer Magic. Wizards was looking for a new print facility, but needed to keep control of their product, so print orders were placed for samples with intentionally scrambled image files - in this case the art from a Beta Island, the text of Dark Ritual in German, and a copyright line in French - so that the printing company would not be able to reconstruct a correct image to produce counterfeit cards.
