Description: Dinesen, Isak (i.e. Karen Blixen). Out of Africa. New York: Random House, 1938. Offered for sale is a copy of Isak Dinesen's Out of Africa--in its first American edition (so stated), the first printing, of 1938.* This copy is in very good condition. The unclipped jacket, secure in Mylar, is a bit sunned, soiled, and chipped--mildly at the front and spine panels, and moderately at the back panel. The cloth binding remains bright, and the interior is free of annotations, underscores, etc. The endpapers are browned (owing to the aging of the glue that holds them to the boards); a few bits of paper have flaked away at the hinges (again, as a consequence of the publisher's choice of glue). The book will be posted for *FREE* by USPS Priority Mail. Buyers abroad will be served by eBay's International Shipping Program. *N.B. The true first--now very (and, for most collectors, prohibitively) expensive--was printed for Putnam in 1937.
