Description: MARVEL COMICS Marvel Cinematic Universe MCU Disney+ Key IRONHEART / SHANG-CHI First Appearance: The Ten Rings (Organization) Marvel Studios' Ironheart series is scheduled to premiere sometime in Fall 2023, and while little is known about the show's content, its likely that story threads began in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will play a role to some extent. If Ironheart draws content from Marvel's Ironheart comics, then a big player in the Disney series will be THE TEN RINGS organization, first introduced in the early Phase Four film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Indeed, the movie's post-credits sequence reveals the Ten Rings are still an active bunch under the direction of Shang-Chi's sister, XIALING. Moreover, the credit sequence directly states "The Ten Rings Will Be Back." While rumors have circulated that the organization itself may earn its own Disney series, its also just as likely Ironheart will be the place Xialing and her crew resurface. That said, The Ten Rings as a "terrorist organization" was overshadowed by the actual "Ten Rings" weapon used by WEN-WU and later by Shang-Chi, especially as the film's title also refers to the latter. Nevertheless, considering the organization, like its namesake rings, did make its FIRST MCU APPEARANCE in Shang-Chi, it's interesting that the FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE TEN RINGS in Marvel's comics didn't register as a key among the larger collecting community. Should Xialing's group return to the MCU in Phase Five, in Ironheart or elsewhere, its likely collectors will take notice. If they do, Ironheart #2 and its FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE TEN RINGS is what collections will be demanding. And who knows -- wouldn't it be interesting if DOCTOR DOOM was somehow involved with them?
