Brief Description of Patent: The present invention consists of an apparatus for propelling boats by means of oars in such a manner that the oarsman may be enabled to sit in the boat with his face forward i.e. looking in the direction in which the boat is propelled, the motions of the body and the oar handles being the same as in ordinary rowing boats, that of the blades of the oars through the water, however reversed. Condition: Slight crinkling. Pages loose. Wear to left hand edge where patent has been removed from the volume. This was sold by a Library and has their stamp impression on some of the pages/drawings.
