Description: Nicely worked large scale lantern with unusual pierced and hand decorated panels of interesting figures mythical creatures and serpents suspended from its original brass chains and fittings with ceiling rose. The candle sconce section is accessed via a quarter turn of the base located on three spigots which after years of non use is quite tight and fiddly but once cleaned and opened and closed a few times should be more easily achieved. All in very good original untouched and uncleaned condition no splits damage or repairs the decoration remains crisp with no overcleaning. There are a couple of very minor issues one small nut is missing from the underside of one suspension loop and a couple of the chains are slightly tangled so will need addressing to hang properly and straight. Great large proportions and would suit a grand hallway or colonial style porch. Please examine all the enlarged photos as they compliment the description thanks.
