Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely impressive Japanese Satsuma tall vase decorated with colorful flowers and tall bamboo on a creamy white background. The flowers are all delicately painted and embellished with 22 K gold highlights. There is also a brick-red gilt decorated band around the top and bottom of vase. Vase is marked with the Koshida trademark stamp. Vase dates to the Taisho Period (1912-1926). Measures 16 1/4" high with a 4 1/4" diameter top and 4" diameter base. Weighs 6 pounds. This nice vase is in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The crazing is faint and the only noted issues are some minor wear to the gilded design on the bands at the top and bottom of the vase. Satsuma ware was generally created for the export market of the mid-19th Century to cater to Western markets. Most of the better quality pieces were marked by artist studios.
