Description: This Certificate, presented to Bessie Roughley , is part of an original collection of ephemera owned by the said Miss Bessie Roughley I have a number of postcards and a scrap album relating to Bessie and Lizzie Roughley of the Post Office at Westhead, Ormskirk which I shall be listing over the next few months. Miss Roughley received this certificate in place of a prize at St Phillips, Southport, Sunday School she donated the prize to help the Queens Work for Women’s Fund in 1916. The fund was set up in 1914 as an aid for welfare and philanthropy in 1914 at the start of World War 1. This will be sent by second class large letter I combine postage.
