Description: Here is an Icom IC-R71a communications type radio receiver. It covers the Long wave, Medium wave and Shortwave bands (0.001 to 30 Mhz) using continuous tuning (no bandswitching) via PLL technology. The R71a was a much used receiver by many Government Agencies for Monitoring and Communication uses. It is one of the "Classic" general coverage ham radios. This example has been equipped with optional high performance filters (FL-32, FL-44a) and the FM detector board. It is also equipped with the High Stability (TCXO) Local Oscillator module Cosmetically the radio is very nice - no damage and almost no signs of use. Please look at the photos. The radio has been thoroughly checked over and aligned according to the manufacturer's service manual. You will need a long wire (at least 25 feet, better 100 feet) antenna. I will include a power cord. The User Manual (and Service Manual) can be found online at no charge.
