Description: Offered is an interesting gaming coin artifact from the early Roman Empire. Struck at Iberia in Spain on a 28mm bronze flan weighing 12.2 gm. Obv. A male head facing right with a plow behind. Rev. Horseman holding an axe, galloping right with the name of the mint "Arsaos" in Iberian script below. The rim of this coin has been hammered to produce either a gaming token or simply a modified "gift" for someone special. The raised edge has protected the surfaces from additional wear and the reverse image is unusually well preserved for a coin of this issue. In the beautiful condition shown with any damage or imperfection described and shown in the photos.
