There are some cute little drawings/illustrations throughout the book (also by Mary Freeman) and occasionally a page with one or two photographs. An index and a "Summary of Slang" are in the back. The book is in good condition. There is some wear to the cover, primarily around the edges. There is a pencil mark inside the front cover "600 X" and a green crayon mark inside the back cover.
