Description: Pre-Columbian Mississippian Pottery Bowl Partially Intact Mostly restored missing pieces and extra pieces Arkansas Ex DR. DziewaThis was acquired from my friend, Dr. Tom Dziewa about 45 years ago. Tom and I attended Wayne State University in the late 1960s and early 1970s, where he received a PhD. in both Geology and Biology. He was a paleontologist and worked on National Geographic grant in Australia. He was also an engineer-vey multi talented person. We traveled on research projects together. Tom was very interested in Pre-Columbian Native American artifacts. He had a very large collection. His enthusiasm was contagious and I became interested. I acquired this bowl from him. We would also go together to auctions and shows of Ancient American artifacts. This was a group of pieces that he must have acquired and started assembling. Evidently there were pieces missing and some extra pieces from other pots. It looks like he had a price on some of the pieces.Unfortunately Tom passed away about 30 years ago. At that time I packed up items from him and other items I acquired from other sources and put them in boxes in the attic.I am now bringing some of these out for sale on Ebay.Pictures describe this bowl as this is the actual one that you will receive. It will be well packed for fast safe arrival to you. Free Shipping.Thank you..
