Description: This listing offering is for an exceptional and very rare face cut specimen of colorful and complex porcelain jasper embedded in colorful host thunderegg shell rhyolite originating from Willow Creek just North of Eagle, Idaho! The coloration and pattern of the gem jasper is exceptional! Pink, purple, lavender, yellow and orange pigmentation dominate the Willow Creek Jasper and orbs are present within the gem jasper veins. This is an unusual and very rare specimen as the jasper is framed within the extensive host rhyolite. The claim holder and miner, Larry Ridley, has commercially dug this jasper for the past 30 plus years and he does not allow specimens such as this one to leave the mine without significantly removing a vast majority of the host rhyolite. This specimen must have been taken from the deposit before Larry took hold of the claim and the rhyolite is quite colorful, complex in pattern and hard enough to take and retain a polished finish just like the gem jasper veins within the beautiful host! The exceptional specimen weighs 5 pounds 3.4 ounces and measures 145mm by 123mm by 133mm. All photos taken of the specimen while wet, excluding the final photo which shows the gem jasper in host thunderegg matrix while dry. I will combine shipping for multiple wins as long as the specimens can be packaged in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage.
