silversmith’s with his mother’s family having 5 generations, and his father’s
family with 2 generations. Charles has worked full-time as a silversmith since
the age of 20. He first started inlaying at the age of 13 for a few years while
learning both.Starting with traditional Navajo jewelry, Charles then went into
Navajo contemporary jewelry, then onto the Western style with swirl design
cutouts. The majority of his jewelry are cutout overlay on bracelets, and
buckles with Petroglyph designs (Anasazi drawings). He also enjoys bracelet
overlay with Western style and swirl design. Charles’ clans are Ashii (Salt
People) and Todich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan).
