Description: Hard to find, vintage 1950's mid century modern Philco Model C660 portable AM radio that is a good candidate for parts or restoration. Advertised in 1958 by Philco as the "Worlds first portable radio with a built in flash light". Radio looks good for it's age, with some scuffs and scratches, particularly on the back panel, but the handle is broken off and missing. There are no chips or cracks to the body. The interior of the radio is very clean, but there is substantial rust/corrosion on the battery posts. I do not have the proper batteries to test the radio. As a result, the radio is being sold "As Is" for parts or restoration. Both knobs turn smoothly and properly. Radio is not very common - no photographs of it on the Radio Museum web page or on Radio Attic. Don't miss out to add this unique radio to your collection. In order to ensure safe delivery, the radio will be double boxed. Do not hesitate to make an offer all will be considered.
