The book is beautifully illustrated and in its original form, it is in fair condition see photos, cover very worn on corners and spine top and bottom.staining on several pages and torn and missing pages. The story portion of the book is all there and in fair condition except for the staining, the missing portions are the back 2 or 3 pages. The final page of the story is there in tact, the next 1 or 2 pages are ripped or gone and then the synopsis page is there and the next page ripped and 2/3 gone. This book would fill the gap in a collection but only to fill the gap, or for crafting, not a show piece for any fan of Dr. Seuss or Horton the Elephant.
