Description: Hopi One Piece Carved Polik Mana Butterfly Maiden Katsina Kachina by Lomayesva This hand carved, hand painted, one piece Butterfly Maiden is made by Reuben Lomayesva (1920-1992). Some of his work is in the the Heard Museum. He lived in the Moenkopi Village, in Arizona, and was a member of the Hopi Tribal Council 1959-1960. 17.5" tall to the top of the carved wood piece and 20" tall including the top of the feather. It probably has feathers in both hands. There is a repair, or it's a crack in the arm without the feather, at the elbow. Otherwise, in excellent condition with vibrant colors.
