Description: Proudly Presented today is this superlative Mocking Kachina. This unique clown, with telescope eyes, perfectly mimics the actions of whoever interests him. His mocking gestures are delightful, but when he turns his attention on the Kachina dancers themselves, the dancers quickly lose patience. In order to rid themselves of his perfect mimicry, they finally pantomime setting their hair on fire, which the Mocking Kachina does, literally, running around the courtyard screaming, with his hair actually on fire, to the delight of the crowds. This great example is by Philbert Poleyestewa, of Moencopi, a talented and prolific carver, who is creating some of the finest Kachina dolls available today. It stands 7 and a half inches tall, and is beautifully carved from a single piece of Cottonwood root. The treatment of the kindling hair is especially realistic, and is the best interpretation i have ever seen. It would be a fantastic addition to any Kachina doll collection, created by a recognized carver and an always popular subject. Buy with confidence, because as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and sincere Congratulations in advance to the lucky buyer! Best Regards, Rich
