Description: Honda HR215 Deck From a hydrostatic drive mower if it makes a difference for that model but I think the decks are the same. This one has a worn out area in front of the shoot where the clippings feed through for the bag. I know it could be built back up with tig weld. Or with acetylene aluminum braze Welding.. Which only requires the right abrasives, small torch tip with aluminum tig rods and flux. I can somewhat do that but don’t have a torch set up. They do make low temp alloy aluminum braze rods that you can use with the right map gas set up with the right torch than you need the right flux again. But that is even a more affordable route. Blue Demon makes some of the better aluminum flux rods. Then with a dye grinder and the right abrasives for aluminum I know it could be fixed. There is some minor pitting throughout the deck too, so that tells me that it was used in maybe some sand or gravel like dry soil. I was also told that when the HR 214 model came out which I think was a previous model to the HR 215 series. That when the HR 214 came out, people were having problems when hitting rocks it would actually crack those decks. So the Honda company came out with a steel inner liner kit that could be bolted onto the inside of these aluminum decks to prevent damaging cracks. Which is interesting although I never seen one online, but they may be out there yet. Although if you are careful and just have nice lawns with no obstructions or debris, these lawnmowers would still last a long time with just the regular deck.
