Hogsheart Paste Tomato Seeds | Heirloom | Organic | Rare | Sauce | Processing

Description: (Indeterminate/86 Days)Hogsheart Paste Tomato is a wonderful Italian heirloom tomato that arrived in Massachusetts from Italy sometime between 1910-1920. The fruit average 6-8 ounces sometimes producing double tomatoes and vary in shape between heart-shaped and banana pepper-shaped. These are very meaty and almost seedless making them great for sauces, cooking, canning, and slicing! This is one of the better paste tomatoes! Do not plant out until 2 weeks after last frost. Tomato seeds require high soil temperatures for good germination rates. We highly recommend heat mats to ensure and speed up germination. Pot up to 3–4 inch pots when first true leaves develop (not cotyledon leaves). Harden off plants for 1-2 weeks in full sun before transplanting them outside (after last frost). Make sure to give tomato plants a lot of space for vigorous root and foliage growth.
