Description: HMS VICTORY WOOD This is a small original piece of Wood taken from H.M.S. Victory, which was Admiral Lord Nelsons Flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. During restoration of the Ship in the 1990's this small piece of Wood cut from a larger section which was removed due to decay/damage. This small piece of wood is an off-cut from the Original Victory Wood used to make items for the HMS Victory 2000 MILLENIUM COLLECTION and other HMS Victory Items. Only good sound wood was used to make items and so edges of wood sections, stained-marked pieces and damaged parts were cut off. It comes with a certificate which will give the size and weight of the small wood piece and short history of HMS Victory. This small piece of original HMS Victory Wood is rectangular in shape. The piece is approx. (max.) 1.6 - 2.6 cm x 2.6 cm x 5.3 cm. See PHOTO's. This rectangular wood piece is smooth cut on three sides with two sides rough cut. The top surface is rough broken wood and shows signs of worm damage with worm damage holes going down into one side, see photos. A nice piece showing the type of damage these wood ship suffered from. An interesting piece from a Historic Ship. nsm 115 Other related and similar items can be found in my e-bay shop.
