The HMS Kelly was Captained by Lord Mountbatten, who went on to become one of the key allied leaders of World War II. He was the last Viceroy of India and under whose leadership, India became free of British rule. Tragically, Lord Mountbatten was assassinated by the IRA on August, 27, 1979.
