Accompanying the text are fabulous color and black & white illustrations (prior to the Civil War) and outstanding photographs from the Civil War through the publication date (1988). There is some minor edge wear at the top and bottom of the front cover at the spine (see the scan) and an address sticker on the first blank page but this book is still in very nice condition. No collection of books on the United States Marine Corps is complete without this one.
