Classic travel narrative of American writer, journalist and activist Rufus B. Sage (1817-1893); this record of his travels between 1841 through 1844 combines his own experiences, geographical and wildlife descriptions, hunting sketches, tales of mountain men and Indians; some examples: encounter with a Grizzly Bear, dangers connected with the liquor trade, and Pawnee and Sioux battle-ground. Condition: Good/Acceptable (the covers have fading/discoloring, front cover has nibbling along bottom edge, rubbing to other extremities; hinges are shaken but uncracked, pages are clean overall with light tanning and occassional margin smudges).
