Description: Beautiful handled chestnut flask from the 1850s. This bottle came out of an antebellum plantation house along the James River in Virginia. It’s been in my collection for years. Free blown, no mold seams, crude and perfect applied handle. Sharp open pontil, applied ring collar, honest base wear. Lovely orange amber color. The flask is in near perfect mint condition. The only possible detractors are some scattered fine scratches and an extremely light ring of content stain 1/3 of the way up from the base. Mentioned for for complete accuracy, it’s barely noticeable. 7.5” tall. Really a fantastic example. Shipping will be by USPS Ground Advantage with tracking and insurance. I ship only within the United States. Packing will be done professionally to ensure the bottle arrives in your collection in the same condition it leaves mine. I usually ship within 48 hours of payment; however, my work involves frequent travel and you will be promptly notified of any shipping delay. The shipping rate quoted is the maximum you will pay. I’m forced to list a higher rate to cover shipping to more distant regions; for example, from my home in Virginia to the west coast. Immediately after shipping I will promptly refund any overage more than 99 cents. The same holds true for multiple purchases shipped together. Thanks for taking a look. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
