A normal size piece of paper would take 4 or 5 runs (if you have intermittent low volume shredding requirements it might be useful). If you fold up the paper it WILL NOT shred it, this is not a heavy duty shredder by any means (9 volt battery powered). It did a great job of shredding receipts I had laying around but I am not sure beyond that.
