Description: For your consideration is a hand turned wax sealer canning jar. I filled it with tap water and it held 30+ ounces. I do not know the ID of the manufacturer, as several companies made similar jars in the late 1800s and early 1900s. A tin (pressed steel) lid is placed in the groove and melted wax is poured around the edge of the tin lid. As the wax cools, it hardens and forms a seal and that is why it is referred to as a wax sealer. It uses a tin lid, that is 3 1/2 inches in diameter. It is approximately 5 inches tall and the bottom has a diameter of approximately 4 1/2 inches. This wax sealer is an old item that has been used. It has minor to insignificant chips around the bottom edge. It has minor to insignificant chips around the top edge. A large percentage of the interior has lime stains. The exterior has manufacturing errors. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Whenever it is practical, I will combine shipping.
