About the ArtistUrbain Huchet (1930-2014) was a French Post impressionist, active in the second half of the 20th century. Early in his life he worked in various disciplines, studying law and even owning a textile factory. Then, starting 1960 he devoted the rest of his life to art. Early on he was strongly influenced by Gauguin, and Emile Bernard. Based in Paris, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, and India. His works are typified by a fluid and free approach, in both form and color. He painted extensively on canvas and watercolor, and became an accomplished lithographer. He had exhibitions worldwide, including New York, London, New Orleans, Egypt, and Paris.
