Description: North Hampton is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire with a population of 9,900 at the 2020 census. While most of the town is inland, North Hampton includes a part of New Hampshire’s limited Atlantic seacoast. When first settled in 1639, the town was a part of Hampton known as “North Hill” or North Parish. In 1831, a petition for separation was filed in 1719, and was granted. New Hampshire separated from Massachusetts and North Hill, North Parish became North Hampton, a city unto its own. The Odd Fellows Block was an historic building located in downtown Hampton, New Hampshire. It was built in the late 19th century and was home to the Independent “Order of Odd Fellows”, a fraternal organization. The building was destroyed in a fire in 1990, but the clock and bell from the building were saved and are now on display at the “Centre School on Winnacunnet Road. The Odd Fellows Building is still on this card, postmarked 1912?, that would be in good condition except for a bend across the card, a couple inched down from the top. Otherwise, there is just minor wear overall and a clean, clear image. The reverse has a messy message and is otherwise clean. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible.
