Description: Hammond, IN cabinet card handsome man w lovely curly hair, Indiana by Bick This fellow is looking intently at something off camera. His thick, curly hair is combed and sleek but looks barely contained. He is wearing a white shirt with Westminster collar, and dark tie, suit and vest. Some fading to image. There is surface scratching throughout. Light soiling to both image and card. Below the image, on the card, in gilded lettering, are:"Bick," "Studio, 87 State Street," and "Hammond, Ind." There is no back mark. Back of card has an upside-down ghost image from being stored with another photo. Card measures 6.5 x 4.25 inches, and image is approximately 5.5 x 3.875 inches. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
