The photographs are engraved on separate cardboard pages, each measuring about 11 1/4" x 7 1/2". The set is in very nice condition. There are no bookplates, ink names, or pen/pencil notations. The borders of the photographs have darkened slightly due to age. The chemise shows wear at the edges and corners and the hinges are becoming fragile. Nevertheless, it still functions. The photographs are stunning in their clarity, and each is suitable for framing. A reprint was made of this set in the 1980s. Don't be fooled by the reprints.
