Description: 1910 Hahn, MO RPPC serious blond girl with bear skin, white dress, AZO post card unposted I just love this shot: The little girl is dressed as though the photo celebrates a confirmation or other important occasion. The backdrop is oversized and elaborate. Her right hand rests on the pelt of what I think must be a bear. Her expression is so, so serious. Embossed in lower left of photo is:"D.L. ShellHahn, MO." The only D.L. Shell that I can find living in Bollinger County at that time lists his occupation throughout the years as farmer, but he could have had a sideline as a photographer. Slight yellowing to image. Raised areas where it appears the photo has been set on something pointed or uneven, when seen at an oblique angle. (See last photo.) My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
