Description: Rosewood Dalbergia Spruceana guitar set. Backs about 8.5 wide, 22.4 long, sanded to about 0.145. Sides about 5 to 4.2 wide, 33 long, sanded to about 0.110 thick. A few saw marks still remain in sides, but should clean up with careful hand sanding at about 0.095 thick. This is true rosewood from Brazil, if you research this species at US forestry service website, you will see it very similar to D. Nigra. Only a slight difference in density(D. Spruceana is slightly denser) and a difference in the flouresence of the shavings under black light between the species.This is not to be confused with macacauba, which is sometimes called amazon rosewood. macacauba is a playmiscium species.Photographed dry.
