It was noted that books available for Ives trains dealt in units and types of Ives but never showed sets in chronological or numerical order nor did they breakdown what engine pulled what or what cars were pulled by what engine. Therefore, this guide was assembled from Ives catalogues from 1921 to 1932, with charts showing Wide Gauge and "O" gauge and placed them in a form to answer the needs that other Ives collectors must have regarding catalogued sets. Tables "1" and "2' are the most significant and useful. The reader can use Table "1' and alongside each listed engine will be found every car that the engine ever pulled in a catalogued set. The calendar year or years those trains were in a catalogue and their outfit numbers are also shown. Every car which is listed in Table "1' is placed in numerical order for Table "2'. Following each car shown is every engine in numerical order which ever pulled that particular car. Table "3' shows the names given to sets, engines and cars by Ives (ex. Black Diamond, Blue Vagabond) Just a few examples of pages are shown to give one an idea of the information shown for each category. The guide contains a total of 16 pages, front and back.
